Who am I?

I watch the grass sway in the wind

and feel the texture of the flat stone

searching deeply

for the answers these ancients hold

Half of me thinks I’m crazy

for trying to hold on so tight

The other half knows and trusts

that ancestral knowledge is there
Waiting to be heard once again

A place where the trees and animals talked

When it was us who needed protection

Where Senklip was our savior, educator and guide

Who am I?

I watch the grass sway in the wind

and hear the water speak to me in waves

crashing on the shore

my heart knowing the ancients

are there calling me home

Maybe they are sad and disappointed with me

Do they think I only half listen when I constantly try to leave?

Half of me desperate to stay, the other half eager to go

Why can I not see the answer’s there in front of me

Half of me thinks I’m too stubborn

The other half is too blind to see

That the answers I seek are inside me

In my blood is ancestral memory
Waiting to be heard once again

A place where learning and growing never ends

and adapting and accepting is necessary

Because time changes not only the land

Where keeping an open mind and heart is natural

and expected

Senklip knew, that’s why he put me here with you

Who am I?

I listen to the wind and it speaks to me

I feel the flat stone and the memories radiate

the wind on my face, the water at my feet

They know who I am, the blood runs deep
Waiting to be seen.
